Honourable Mentions for PCR Programmers!
June 5, 2014 by CFUZ

Some exciting news for Peach City Radio, from the 2014 National Campus/Community Radio Conference in Victoria today!

In Peach City Radio's first year of submitting applications to the NCRA National Awards, recognizing exceptional efforts in volunteerism, participation and programming, two Peach City Radio programmers have garnered Honourable Mentions in some very prestigious categories.

For Documentary Program, our VP Craig Henderson won an Honourable Mention for his look at the efforts of volunteers in receiving and recording radio transmissions from overseas during WWII. His documentary "Messages from a P.O.W." can be found here.

Membership Director Tim Tweed (a.k.a. Tenacious T) picked up an Honourable mention in the Music Program category, for his 'Undercover' episode, highlighting music that celebrated MLK, and the civil rights movement. Listen to this episode here.

Our congratulations go out to our Honourable Mentions, and to all PCR programmers who submitted applications to the NCRA awards program. We were told at the ceremony that decisions in each category were very difficult to make!

Please make sure to spread the word to anyone interested in getting involved, and making programs for PCR - we are hosting and producing nationally recognized programming in the Campus/Community radio sector, and we can help you too, if you are interested in Penticton hearing your voice on Peach City Radio!
